Representation is a lens through which we learn to understand and appreciate the diversity of our world. However, this lens is often clouded by ignorance. When we see someone, we only see their present self, not the journey they’ve taken. While it’s natural to form first impressions based on appearances, it’s superficial to let these impressions become fixed. Genuine representation fosters understanding and acceptance, leading to growth. Everyone, regardless of gender, race, or creed, deserves a platform to express themselves and their beliefs. This can be through social media, seminars, or open discussions. Need to own our stories and be active participant in the narrative of our collective history.

To advance and grow, we need to move beyond superficial appearances and highlight the resilience of those who have worked hard to get where they are. This includes women in local enterprises who have fought tirelessly against the patriarchy and pursued their dreams with fiery dedication. It’s our responsibility to keep this fire burning through authentic storytelling, inclusive media portrayals, and providing society with a clear lens to see their efforts. Owning our stories and making even one change can have a profound impact. Engaging in one honest conversation, where we listen more than we defend or offer false comfort, can lead to genuine understanding and connection.
